HISTORY AND EVOLUTION OF MAGNETIC RECORDERS IN THE A.I.R.E. EXHIBITION
The appointment with the Electronics Fair is enhanced by a very interesting exhibition promoted by A.I.R.E (Italian Association for Vintage Radio). In Hall 5, in fact, visitors will be able to appreciate a special exhibition entirely dedicated to the history of vintage magnetic recorders. From the “Telegraphone” invented in 1898 by the Danish scientist Valdemar Poulsen to the new large tape recorders with steel band instead of wire conceived in 1930 by Kurt Stille up to the first magnetic tape recorder conceived in 1933 by the Austrian Pleumer and ” Magnetophon ”marketed by BASF, these devices were produced exclusively for military use. From 1953, Geloso began marketing the first magnetic tape recorder for home use, a prelude to the turning point of the 1960s with the distribution by Philips of the “Compact Cassette”. The exhibition proposed by A.I.R.E. it will be an unmissable opportunity to admire a selection of unique objects up close, retracing the history of broadcasting and the technological evolution that has accompanied them over the years.

CONTEST UNIVERSITY ITALY: INTERNATIONAL CONTESTING MAKES A STOP IN MONTICHIARI
By now a historic appointment at the Electronics Fair, the Contest University Italy is confirmed as the key event for radio amateurs and lovers of radio. The appointment is set for Saturday 3 September, at 10.00, in Sala Pedini (second floor, central entrance) with a parterre of high-level speakers and topics of great interest for radio amateurs and technology enthusiasts. The Contest University Italy is one of the most anticipated events proposed as part of Fiera dell’Elettronica and, over the years, has allowed many radio amateurs to confront themselves with leading figures for the international contest and to establish a dialogue that, in edition, it is a source of mutual enrichment and human growth.
The appointment with the 57th edition of Fiera dell’Elettronica, therefore, is at the Centro Fiera di Montichiari (BS) on Saturday 3, from 9.00 to 18.00, and Sunday 4 September, from 9.00 to 17.00.
